Why we Love Linen

Linen is environmentally friendly- “All the flax used to make linen is used in other ways – the seeds are pressed to make linseed oil which is used in floor coverings, such as linoleum, and paints. Linen is a renewable resource and it needs no irrigation. Linen is also fully biodegradable.” In strong contrast to polyester, spandex, nylon.

“Cotton is mostly grown in monoculture and is a very pesticide-intensive crop. Although it is only grown on 2.5% of the world’s agricultural land, it consumes 16% of all the insecticides and 6,8% of all herbicides used worldwide”.-Organic cotton

Not only is linen, extremely absorbent, breathable, Hypoallergic, durable and easy to clean it also has many-hidden quality’s such as “Linen fabric has a light massaging effect because of the microscopic breaks throughout the fabric” Not only can you control your body temperature, self clean your sheets but you also get a massage at the same time!

With a company such as Piglet in bed selling such lovely pure linen bedding, tableware and sleepwear there is no reason to buy cotton again! A small step to taking on the world crisis but every thread counts. (quite literally)

Not only is Linen beneficial for us but also the world!

We cant wait to launch our sustainability-focused online shop- creating a bespoke platform for hand-picked designers, makers and like-minded creatives focused at creating considered, lasting and beautiful interiors.
